Our Minee Subee Land Director

My name is Tracie Richter and I am the Director of Minee Subee Land in Hanover Park. I began my career in Early Childhood four years ago as a teacher of infants. I have spent time teaching children of all age groups, and have held an administrative role for over two years. As a Director, I have found that I really enjoy working with the children and their families. It is my goal to meet all of the needs of the families, and to ensure that their child’s experience here is wonderful.

My educational background is in Early Childhood and Psychology. I attended the University of Illinois at Chicago and the College of DuPage. Some of the courses that I completed include: Community Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Cognition and Memory – Handicapped Children, Language Development and the Young Child, Parenting and the Young Child, and Educational Psychology. I volunteered for one year in the Psychiatric Building of Alexian Brothers Hospital. While there, I spent time in the Children’s Unit and cared for children that were victims of physical and sexual abuse. I also assisted with group therapy sessions for teens.

I cannot begin to express the continued feeling of fulfillment that I have from working with children and their families. Each child is a unique expression of continuous joy. Each child's honesty, kindness, and sense of humor reflects the innocence of childhood. Through the experiences with my own daughter and the experiences that other parents have shared with me, I have grown to understand the delicate process of childhood. Children are a special gift to us, a gift we should hold close to our hearts.
