Kindergarten | Before and After School Club | Day Camp Pre-Kindergarten ProgramView an average dayThe Pre-Kindergarten Program reinforces letter and name recognition, beginning writing skills, and phonics. We use a literacy-based program called Letterland. Through play and traditional methods, the pre-kindergarten children become confident in their understanding of the alphabet.
Math skills are taught daily. The children are beginning to build an understanding of numbers beyond the basic counting skills. Addition and subtraction are introduced through games and activities. The computer is used in the classroom on a daily basis. Science experiments are conducted using a broad spectrum of different media. The math, science, and social skills are also reinforced through many different cooking experiences. The children also learn through cognitive activities, small muscle skills, art, music, and large motor play. Respect for themselves and others is learned through play, multicultural and intergenerational activities, math, science, dramatic play, and field trips. |
